Test Details

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a standardised test being administered since 2003 to facilitate Post Graduate Institutions to screen candidates for admission to MBA, PGDM ad MCA courses. Any Post Graduate Institution within the state can consider KMAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates.

KMAT scores are being released to both Management Institutions and Students. The purpose of KMAT is to provide information to institutions on a candidate’s aptitude and skills to cope up with a post graduate program. It therefore assists in making decisions pertaining to admissions to institutions. KMAT scores is one of the sources of information and should be used whenever possible in combination with other information prior to admissions.

It is important to understand that the KMAT score is only one part of the admission process and amongst various factors used to screen applications and make admission decisions. A high KMAT score alone is not enough to guarantee admission to a MBA, PGDM or MCA program. Likewise, a low score does not mean that you cannot qualify. Interpretation and the use of the scores is purely based on individual colleges and their admission procedures.

Important Notice: Applicants are advised to cross verify the approval/recognition status of various programs and other details directly from the concerned Authorities/ Institutes/ Universities.

KPPGCA HAS COME ACROSS A COUPLE OF CASES WHERE THE ASPIRING CANDIDATES' KMAT SCORE IS NOT ACCEPTED BY SOME INSTITUTES FOR ADMISSION TO FULL TIME COURSES. CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO RECHECK WITH THE CONCERNED INSTITUTES/UNIVERSITIES BEFORE APPLYING FOR KMAT.
